Dr. Carlos C. Amaya has been named EPCC Vice President of Student and Enrollment Services.
Dr. Amaya has done an exemplary job serving the Institution over the last 14 years and as interim vice president over the last ten months during unprecedented times.
His competitive appointment has earned him the distinction of serving as the Chief Student Services Officer for the District.
Dr. Amaya earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Master of Science Degree and Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.
As a long-serving EPCC Professor of Biology empowering our students in the classroom, instructional administrator supporting faculty and disciplines, and managing campus enrollments, he is uniquely qualified to take on this new role serving our #1 priority, our current and prospective students.
His vision of focusing on student success, retention, graduation, and the overall efficiency of recruitment, enrollment, and implementation of best practices will allow EPCC to continue to expand educational opportunities to our region.
In his previous and current administrative roles, Dr. Amaya has demonstrated his ability to sustain strong, high-functioning teams by providing vision, leadership, a strong work ethic, and a collaborative spirit in everything he does.
