The blood drive held at Valle Verde Feb. 3 and 4 missed its combined goal of 65 units by more than 25 units, according to Thiago Silva, Senior Account Manager for Vitalant, a non-profit blood supply organization that has worked with EPCC in previous blood drives.
Silva said they will try again in April. He anticipates grater student participation especially if faculty give extra credit, according to an email from Silva.
Results at NWC were dramatically different.
Vitalant Account Manager Edith Arrunda reported success at the Northwest Campus blood drive. Her email was sent Thursday, Feb. 13 and included the following details:
"Our Goal was 10/11
This means 10 donors / 11 units.
We finished with 16/17
This means 16 donors / 17 units collected. We exceeded goal !!! YEIIII!!!😊
This means that the 17 units collected can potentially save 51 lives!
Thank you, Students, Professors, Staff, Family and Friends, on behalf of Vitalant team.
EPCC is an excellent college, and we kindly thank you for the hospitality provided.
Thank you again for all the help, effort and time provide to make this blood drive a complete success," Arrunda's email concluded.
