VV Early College High School Ranked #1 for Best High Schools in El Paso

EPCC has an established track record with successful early college high schools all over the city. With 18 early college high schools across El Paso, EPCC's efforts over the past 18 years is finally paying off.


Valle Verde Early College High School has been named the No. 1 public high school in El Paso by the U.S. News & World Report in for the Best High Schools for 2024.


"This is the Spartan experience where students elevate their educational trajectories and excel in the areas of college readiness, state assessment proficiency and performance, college curriculum breadth among others," said Valle Verde ECHS Principle Claudia Canava-Flores. "We are proud to be named the best high school in El Paso."


With a 100% graduation rate, Valle Verde ECHS also ranked No. 35 in Texas and No. 241 in national rankings.


"Valle Verde ECHS ranking No. 1 among El Paso high schools reflects the shared commitment and work of our community of stakeholders," said Flores, "In partnership with the Ysleta ISD and EPCC, VVECHS offers a rigorous high school and college experience that leads students not only to earn an associate degree but to do so early and attend UTEP their senior year." 


The study ranks schools based on subject proficiency in mathematics, reading, and science in state mandated tests.


Valle Verde ECHS, along with the other 17 EPCC early college high schools, provides students with the opportunity to earn their Associate's degree while in high school.
