Valle Verde Building A elevator shut down for modernization

STAFF REPORT

The elevator in Building A at the Valle Verde Campus will be shut off during the scheduled weeks below. The shutdown will be for three weeks and it has been strategically scheduled to minimize the impact for student, faculty, and staff.

This elevator outage will allow the Physical Plant to modernize the elevators with new wiring at the cab, wiring in the machine room, door sensors, door operators, controller, and electrical power unit. The completion of this project will provide Building A at the Valle Verde Campus with an upgraded elevator. These improvements will greatly reduce the chance of unplanned breakdowns and minimize lead time to acquired materials needed at that time in the future.

EPCC asks that all students, faculty and staff plan accordingly to use other means of egress to their destinations. Please do not attempt to enter the elevator during this period. The elevator will be out of order during the modernization period.

The selected schedule below was coordinated to minimize the impact of the elevator modernization for students, faculty and staff.

The Building A elevator modernization will begin on Feb. 19 with the estimated completion time of March 9.

Any questions regarding this scheduled outage can be addressed directly to Roberto Samaniego (915) 831-7885 or Cesar Aguirre (915) 831-7765 at the Physical Plant department.
