Tejanos Baseball eliminated from NJCAA Region 5 playoffs vs. Weatherford Coyotes

EPCC Baseball heads to the NJCAA Region 5 Postseason for the first time since 2008! The Tejanos will travel to play at Weatherford College for the best of three series starting Thursday, May 8, in Weatherford, Texas.
Weatherford, ranked #5 in NJCAA Division 1 baseball, is 44-11 overall and won their third straight conference title. The Tejanos (39-17) earned the fourth Western Junior College Athletic Conference (WJCAC) playoff spot by defeating Frank Phillips College 6-3 and 15-5 in five innings Saturday. On Friday, EPCC lost the first game, 3-2, then won game two, 13-8. EPCC won the tie breaker with Howard College on power points, 73 to 70, for the fourth and final playoff spot.
EPCC travels to Weatherford in a new playoff format, in which the top team from the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) hosts the fourth-place team from the WJCAC. The winner advances to a Super Regional double-elimination tournament at the higher West seed on May, 15-17. The winner of the Super Regional tournament advances to the 2025 NJCAA College World Series.
