EPCC Tejanos Sign Letters of Intent with Division 1 Universities

El Paso Community College is proud to announce the signing of National Letters of

Intent by two student-athletes to play for NCAA Division 1 baseball programs. 


Once completing their final season and graduating from EPCC, Isaiah Gonzalez and

Edwin Sanchez will continue their education and athletics at major universities.


“Both of these players are a big reason why the culture has changed here. They have exemplified everything that I have asked of them since stepping foot at El Paso Community College,” Julien Soucy, EPCC Head Baseball Coach said. “They are students first and have shown that throughout their academic success. They have put themselves in a great position to sign early with Division 1 universities.”

Isaiah Gonzalez has signed with the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros in Edinburg, Texas. Isaiah is a right-handed pitcher who attended Clint High School. So far in his collegiate career, he has thrown 33 innings and struck out 49 with only 14 walks. He will be a Spring 2024 graduate from EPCC and currently has a 3.77 GPA, majoring in Accounting, Business, and Economics.

Edwin Sanchez has signed with Bethune-Cookman Wildcats in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Edwin is a left-handed pitcher who attended the Leadership Christian Academy in Puerto Rico. So far in his college career, he has thrown 20 innings and struck out 28 with 14 walks. He will be a Spring 2024 graduate and currently has a 3.30 GPA,

majoring in Multidisciplinary Studies.
