El Paso Community College (EPCC) brought the colleges' premier annual open house event, Tejano Day, to the Transmountain campus on Saturday, May 3 for all prospective students who might have missed Operation College Bound at local high schools. Each year, EPCC Recruitment Services selects a campus to host Tejano Day with the intent to highlight all the exciting opportunities each campus has to offer our students.
“This event is fun to coordinate because it allows each campus to open its doors to the public and showcase the achievements of the faculty, staff, and students. The Transmountain Campus was selected this year to highlight its unique campus setting overlooking the Franklin Mountains, state-of-the-art facilities for our Interior Design and Fashion Technology programs, and more!" EPCC Director of Recruitment Services Michael Talamantes said.
EPCC opened up the Transmountain campus so students could explore EPCC career and technical programs, visit with community vendors and student resources, learn about student organizations, and speak to EPCC faculty. On-site enrollment services were available to build your schedule for this upcoming summer and fall semesters!
“Tejano Day is a wonderful example of how the College comes together to support our community—especially our graduating seniors," EPCC Vice President of Student and Enrollment Services Dr. Carlos Amaya said. “Student Services and First Year Experience staff are on hand to help students enroll for the summer and fall semesters, and we're excited to welcome faculty, student clubs and organizations, and community partners who are providing valuable information and encouragement as students take their next steps into higher education."
All prospective students and their families were welcome at this event, which included high school seniors who were not able to attend Operation College Bound at their respective high schools or homeschool students.
At this event, all the information you will ever need was available, including tours of the various buildings throughout the Transmountain campus, participation in special enrollment presentations, visit with Admissions, Financial Aid, First-Year Experience, and Recruitment Services in our Resource Fair.
