By ANDRES CARRILLO The world is chaotic right now is the biggest understatement of the last decade, but saying that accomplishes nothing, and I want to make sure I keep these editorials focused on a key message. Before the pandemic was declared, I wrote that we shouldn’t trust the media, and while I was wrong about them saying that Covid-19 was serious, I believe my point still stands.
In my last editorial, I wrote about how the government was not to be trusted, and I haven’t been proven wrong yet.
For this editorial, I want to write about something that I truly think is the biggest concern that should be on everyone’s mind right now.
I want to talk about the Communist Party of China.
So I want to clarify before I start that this is no critique on the people of China, and I actually admire them more than I do Americans today, and this isn’t a critique of Marxist ideology.
The CCP is not evil because they believe in owning the means of production (and China hasn’t had strict socialist economic policies in decades).
The CCP is an evil institution because they control the biggest authoritarian state in the World, kill those who dissent, put their people in concentration camps, and lied to the world about a virus that has now killed more Americans than 9/11 did by three times.
The first cases of Covid-19 started popping up in Wuhan, China in December, as far as we know.
Then on December 31, Dr. Li Wenliang becomes a whistleblower and warns doctors of a SARS-like virus breaking out.
The next day, government officials say that the virus cannot be transmitted from human-to-human.
Dr. Wenliang and other doctors are charged by the government and are forced to sign statements on February 1 saying they won’t commit anymore “unlawful acts” like warning people of the outbreak.
The consensus among doctors in Wuhan was that human-to-human transmission was possible, but the CCP stopped this information from getting out because they wanted to save space.
This is what people don’t understand about China.
They are controlled by a huge authoritarian state that commits human rights violations on a regular basis.
To keep the billions of people in their country under control, they control the information.
They have to make it seem like everything is ok.
This is where I’ll add that the other doctors who spoke out alongside Dr. Wenliang, have not been heard from since, and Dr. Wenliang died of Covid-19 in early February after being hospitalized on January 11.
The CCP does not care about their own citizens.
In January, when human-to-human transmission was known to them, they still said that there was no evidence that was the case and they still encouraged families to gather for the Lunar New Year.
This was all done to save face and make the rest of the world feel that they had the virus under control.
At the same time, the CCP was locking people in their homes to starve to death.
And since their initial drop in cases, which was only achieved by essentially locking their people up to starve to stop transmissions, apparently the cases in China have been close to none.
How is it that in a country of 1.4 billion people, only 3,000 died from the virus?
You’re telling me that New York, a state with a population of 19 million has had a death toll of over 10,000, but the country where the outbreak began has less.
Ok, maybe that’s fair, but then why are Chinese crematoriums running at capacity?
Why are the country’s movie theatres still shutdown if they’ve had virtually no cases in weeks?
The answer is that the CCP is obviously lying like they did with the misinformation over transmission, and people are dying. And they are doing it to save face.
The most despicable thing is that the World Health Organization peddled China’s misinformation and continues to help them out.
The WHO continued to tell the world that human-to-human transmission was impossible in late January.
Imagine how many people could have been saved if not for that lie.
Then they continue to kiss up to China and refuse to acknowledge Taiwan as a separate entity so that China doesn’t cut them off.
Their irresponsibility is clear to everyone and Japan has openly called out the WHO with the Deputy Prime Minister, Aso Taro saying that the WHO should change their name to the “China Health Organization.”
This is part of the reason I don’t like the argument that we should blindly trust information just because it’s from a non-partisan entity.
Like previously stated, The WHO, a “trusted source” spread misinformation well into January, and the Centers for Disease Control, another “trusted source” was telling people not to wear face masks up until the start of April.
So to summarize the latest evil that the CCP committed, they spread misinformation about a virus that broke out in their country and because of their need to save safe, the initial outbreak has turned into a pandemic and the current death toll is over 133,000, and that’s if you believe China’s numbers.
All of those deaths fall on the CCP’s irresponsibility. But the CCP has been evil before that.
The CCP currently has an estimated 1 million Uyghurs and other muslim and religious minorities in “reeducation camps.”
This is a blatant violation of human rights and an obvious atrocity but the United Nations has them on their Human Rights Council. What a joke.
The other abuse of power I can point to is the Tiananmen Square Massacre.
In 1989, the CCP forcibly stopped student protests in Tiananmen and the conservative estimated death toll was in the hundreds.
My point is that the CCP are the Nazi Party of our time, and it’s time that we stop letting global authorities like the UN or the WHO let them weasel their way into power.
We need to start supporting those that dissent like the Hong Kong protesters and hope that the movement spreads across China so that the CCP is overthrown.
We need to call out U.S. organizations like the NBA who play nice with the CCP and ignore their human rights abuses.
The Chinese people are efficient, brilliant, wonderful people who are being oppressed by Xi Jinping, and we can’t continue to let it slide. The CCP lies and people die.
My obvious message here is that we need to be more critical of the CCP, but I also want you to continue questioning authority because it’s clear that global authorities like the WHO and the UN are a joke.
