After a split in a four-game Round Robin tournament versus Colby and Cisco community colleges, El Paso Community College freshman second baseman, Torianna Borunda, was named the Softball Position Player of the Week for the week of February 9 to 15 by the Western Junior College Athletic Conference (WJCAC) sponsored by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Borunda had a .727 batting average and an OBP of .785 for the week while hitting a double, triple and scoring seven runs. Borunda, from Alamogordo, New Mexico, leads the team in runs scored and home runs.
