"Anna Karenina" Opening March 1st

BY MIGUEL HERRERA

The E.P.C.C. Theater department is proud to announce its second production of the year. Anna Karenina makes its way to the stage under the direction of Theater Coordinator Ted Karber Jr.

Set in 1870’s Russia, Helen Edmundson’s contemporary adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s classic story centers on an affair involving Count Vronsky, a young bachelor, and Anna’s husband, high-ranking government official Aleksey Karenin.

Seasoned El Paso native’s Magali Vasquez, Erick Bates, and Thomas Perez will bring to life the roles of Anna, Vronsky, and Karenin.

Opening night will take place Friday, March 1 at 8 p.m. at the Forum Theater located at 9570 Gateway Blvd. North.

Shows will take place Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. from March 1 to 11.

“It takes a classical story and re-interprets it in an inventive way… it’s a perfect show to come and see” said Director Ted Karber Jr.

The Theater department welcomes all members of EPCC and the local community to attend this special event. Tickets for the play will be $6 General Admission, $5 Military, Senior Citizens, EPCC faculty & staff, and non-EPCC students.

EPCC students will receive one free ticket with presentation of a valid I.D. Concessions will be provided by the Theatre Club.

Following Anna’s run, there will be another production shown in the summer.
