EPCC Writing Center and El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank are accepting donations now.
Writing center manager, Michelle E. Carreon, is inviting students to donate, stating, “We, as a community, can come together to donate. It is important to remember compassion and also humanity and the fact that any of us need at some point.”
You can drop off your donations now until March 7 at the writing center, room A-1425.
At VV campus Only non-perishable items will be accepted.
Outdated, opened, or damaged products are not accepted.
Items accepted are, canned meat, peanut butter, chunky soups, macaroni and cheese, pasta, spaghetti sauce, dry cereal, oatmeal, rice, beans, canned vegetables and fruits.
El Pasoans Fighting Hunger is El Paso’s only food bank.
They are the distribution center of food for more than 132 agencies and associated programs that include churches, schools, soup kitchens, and shelters, and distribute food for people in need in El Paso, Culberson, and Hudspeth.
The mission of the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank is to “combat the hunger crisis in our region by strategically procuring and distributing nutritious foods through community partners because no one should go hungry.”
If you are interested in helping the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank, you can donate food, money, and your time by volunteering, and organizing a food drive.
