March 3, 2020

EPCC was awarded with a 2020-2021 Military Friendly School Gold designation by VIQTORY.

This list is created each year based on extensive research from public data sources for more than 8,800 schools.

VIQTORY is a Data-Driven Military marketing company that helps the military community find jobs and enroll in schools that are veteran and military-friendly and that have a lot of resources that could benefit military students and their families.

Over 1,000 schools participated in the 2020-2021 survey; this list is the biggest reviewer for Military friendly schools in the whole country, making this a notable award.

EPCC was among the schools that received Gold status in the state of Texas.

President of EPCC, William Serrata, pH.D., said, “EPCC is committed to providing targeted support to veterans, military members, and their families including clearing roadblocks to registration, developing clear pathways for a degree or program completion, enhancing career exploration and improving networks for course acceptance and transfer.

”Over 3,000 service members, veterans, and their families attend EPCC. According to EPCC, their mission is to serve these students in the most effective and efficient way possible making sure that their every need is met, and that they are committed to its military service members making sure they are getting the best education possible at a low cost helping them focus on school instead of worrying about the stress of wondering how to pay for college.

To achieve this designation, EPCC’s score was within 10 percent of the tenth-highest ranked school.

EPCC scored highest in the culture & commitment category and the financial aid and assistance category.

According to militaryfriendly.com, a military service member should attend EPCC because it has a close relationship with Fort Bliss and they’ve been in the planning stages with the Department of the Army with the goal of building the first of its kind campus on Fort Bliss as part of its "master plan" and commitment to serving veterans in the community.

EPCC is also affordable under the “GoArmyEd” tuition assistance program that provides military members financial assistance for voluntary off-duty education programs in support of a Soldier’s professional and personal self-development goals.
