SGA wins Sweepstakes at junior college convention

EPCC's Student Government Association attended the Texas Junior College SGA 2019 Annual Convention where they


won Sweepstakes as well as placed 1st In the categories; poem of the year, essay of the year, and community service of the year. 


SGA also won the titles of Region 1 President School and State Executive Board Host School. 


Lastly, they have proposed a resolution to the Texas Junior College Student Government Association statewide delegation addressing the recent hardships that college students who cross the U.S.- Mexico border to attend school have been facing. The resolution was passed and adopted with a majority vote.



SGA paced 1st in poem of the year, essay of the year, and community service of the year at the conference.


Today, El Paso Community College serves more than 28,500 students and offers 145 degree and certificate programs. 

The college remains focused on engaging students, growing community partnerships and fostering excellence.
