The Pasos Food Drive seeking donations

April 9, 2019

EPCC club, The Pasos, has begun a food drive accepting canned food such as corn, mixed vegetables, chopped and diced fruit, soup, and non-perishable food, now through April 19.

However, the food that is collected may not be opened, expired or have the ability to be expired.

They are asking for lots of help and engagement from the community of El Paso in order to gather as much food as they can for this canned food drive.

Transportation of large amounts of food is not an issue and should not be something to stop one from donating.

If an individual has a lot of food that they need help transporting, the Pasos club is more than willing to help take it to the Student Success Office, which is where they will be accepting most of their offers of food. The food collected will be split into two. One half will be going to the El Paso Community College Tejano Food Pantry, which aims to provide free and nutritious food to students who need it and also offers support for achieving a higher education.

The other half will be going to the Annunciation House at El Paso, which helps migrants and is currently assisting a lot of the immigrants coming from the southern border.

The Pasos will accept canned and non-perishable food now through April 19.

It is being conducted by the Pasos, which is a club that focuses on the currently relevant problems in our community and then they offer solutions to make El Paso a better place. In the past, the Pasos have gathered Pet supplies to help pet shelters and have read to children at the hospital.

The Pasos club wishes to unite the community to help solve the problems that arise at the city of El Paso. The Pasos club constantly tackles issues that are relevant, such as this food drive. But, if you are interested in helping the Pasos club in another way, you can purchase popcorn from their fundraiser at the office C-417.

The Pasos club is also always looking for new volunteers to help with their mission of engaging in the community. If interested, the Office of Student Success is the place to go, and all that is required is to be in good standing. Everyone is invited to participate in order to reach a large supply of food, not only for our school but to the people of the Annunciation House who would greatly appreciate our help.

Not only will that but the Pasos club also appreciate any new club members that are willing to help the community.

please call the Office of Student Success or e-mail them any questions and concerns.
