Director of El Paso Community College's Senior Adult Programs, Mary Yanez was inducted into the El Paso Commission for Women’s Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame honors outstanding women for their long-term contributions.
Since 1989 as Senior Adult Program Director, Yanez has taken the program to new heights, providing a myriad of classes, sponsoring conferences and special events for thousands of seniors in the community.
The program provides education opportunities and cultural experiences to a diverse older population in the El Paso and surrounding areas.
Representatives from the El Paso Commission for women shared that their mission is to “pursue a positive course of action for achieving equal rights and responsibilities for women. In this regard, we commit to recognize, understand, and respect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the women in our community and to serve as a model for plurality and inclusiveness.”

Yanez was inducted for her remarkable contributions and accomplishments that have impacted the greater El Paso community.
Yanez was inducted in the Public Relations Category for remarkable contributions and/or accomplishments that have impacted the greater El Paso Community through public relations.
“EPCC congratulates Mary Yanez on her induction into the El Paso Women’s Hall of Fame,” EPCC President Dr. William Serrata said. “We are proud of her long-time commitment to EPCC and her work in the community.”
Mary is a producer and host of the Mature Living which airs on EPCC-TV and KCOS Public Television.
First airing in 1991, Mature Living highlights active seniors. The program provides relevant information about senior services, conferences, musical shows, and events for elders to attend.
Yanez is passionate about educational opportunities for the underserved and is founder of community programs and services for youth, women, and the elderly. Giving credit to others and presenting awards to those who have dedicated time to their community such as volunteers. These volunteers bring her joy.
