The EPCC men’s baseball team enjoyed some success last week by winning four of their six games.
The Tejanos went into their two-game series with Eastern Arizona on Feb.12, riding a seven-game losing streak.

El Paso Community College responded by winning both games by the scores of 6-1 and 12-2.
Alejandro Moreno and Luis Navarro led the way offensively for the Tejanos. Moreno had five hits in seven at-bats and scored five runs. Navarro went three-for-six and knocked in five runs.EPCC received a great pitching performance in the first game.
Pablo Cortez collected 10 strikeouts and allowed just one earned run in his seven-inning complete-game victory.
The Tejanos followed that series with a split of their four-game trip to Laredo last weekend, winning the first and final game by the tune of 4-1 and 2-0. Laredo won the middle two games, 7-1 and 10-0.
In the first game of the series, EPCC’s Mario Macias got the win by allowing just one earned run in five innings of work.
Cortez came in for an inning of relief for his third save of the season.The Tejanos record improved to 6-12.
The men will play at New Mexico Community College on March 8 and 9 for a four-game series.
The EPCC women’s softball team dropped three of four games last weekend to fall to 3-13 on the season.The Tejanas defeated Cisco 14-4 in the first game of the series but lost the final three to Colby (7-1), Colby (7-5) and to Cisco (17-16).
The Tejanas will host Laredo for a four-game series on Feb. 22 and 23, with a doubleheader on Friday starting at 3 p.m., and on Saturday, starting at 1 p.m. The second game of each doubleheader will start approximately two hours after the start of the first game.
