Christmas is my favorite time of the year and I’m beyond excited that it’s right around the corner! There are a couple of seasonal things that come as the joyous gifts Christmas gives. Here are a couple of my Christmas must haves and to dos this holiday season!
First, the clothing. Fuzzy socks are very well needed for sleep overs, a fashionable add to your outfit, or for just hanging around the house. They keep your feet warm and cozy and have some very cute designs to keep you looking cute all while staying warm!
Beanies, scarves, gloves, and ear warmers are definitely needed this time of year. Like the socks, they give your outfit a little extra something, and keep you warm where it’s needed! Next, the activities. Christmas is full of fun things to enjoy this joyous season.
Obviously, WinterFest is open downtown and it makes a perfect, comforting place to hang out with friends, family, or significant others. It also makes a great area for pictures for your social media accounts, if I do say so myself.
Ice skating is also a fun activity that can be enjoyed by everyone. I visited the Rhinos Ice Rink last year with my friends and from experience I would say to hold someone’s “reliable” hand!
I held my friend’s hand the whole time, my legs wobbling under me. Once I let go of his hand, I fell straight on my knees!Luckily, my hands helped me catch my fall, but should I have purchased knee pads? Possibly. I would also highly recommend to visit the lights located by McRae. The streets are filled with people walking and enjoying the lights.
If it’s too cold to walk, you can drive your car and look at the lights with the heater on! Remember to be cautious when driving, and watch for pedestrians crossing the streets. Finally, a list of Christmas Must Haves and Dos! The Starbucks seasonal drink, Peppermint Mocha, is my favorite warm latte to drink during the winter season.
Use it to warm up when walking around the mall or downtown. I also love listening to my Spotify playlist of my favorite Christmas songs every day. I literally have Christmas music blasting in my car speakers before school every morning.
I’ve actually been listening to Christmas music since November! My playlist always puts me in a good mood and gets me into that Holly-Jolly spirit.
Baby it’s Cold Outside is my all time favorite Christmas song, especially the Michael Buble and Idina Menzel version.
That song always reminds me of the movie Elf, starring Will Ferrell, so if you’re thinking about staying in, I recommend curling up and watching some classic Christmas movies.
Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the Polar Express, A Christmas Story, the Nightmare Before Christmas, and Christmas with the Kranks are a couple of my go-to Christmas movies.
I actually do all these activities listed almost every winter, which keeps me busy all Christmas season.Just remember to stay safe when going out and not to eat so much Christmas Pillsbury cookies or you will get sick. Merry Christmas!
