EPCC’s Everlyn Kemboi finished in first place at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Cross Country Championships on Nov. 10, in Garden City, Kansas.
Her winning time in the 5K race was 18 minutes and 17 seconds.

The Tejanas finished in second place as a team and had three women named All-American; Kemboi (1) and Francisca Jabor (5) were named to the First Team while Feliciana Kiptoo was named to the Third Team.
The 2018 women’s National Champion was Iowa Central Community College.
Leading the EPCC men in fifth place was Dennis Kiptoo with a time in the 8K race of 25:58.
The Tejanos finished in third place with three men earning All-American honors; Kiptoo (5) was named to the First Team with Gideon Cheplak (7) and Elias Loriposia (9) both making the Second Team.
The 2018 men’s National Champion was Central Arizona Community College.
