EPCC was recognized with the Gold Medallion Award granted by the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations. EPCC was recognized for the event Pride Wednesday, which was designed to engage students, faculty, staff and the community to celebrate Community College Month and show school spirit.

This Even Kicked off community college month last April and due to the positive response, it has been going strong every Wednesday since. Upon a visit to any EPCC campus, you will see many individuals showing their school pride.
“Pride Wednesdays is an effort from the EPCC Marketing & Community Relations Department in conjunction with other EPCC departments to promote a sense of pride among students, faculty and staff,” said Ismael De La Rosa, Marketing Specialist who developed and coordinated the event.”
“I am proud to see so many people wearing our purple and teal colors on Wednesdays to show the community what an awesome institution EPCC is.”
During Community college month and on pride Wednesday’s EPCC celebrates its role in providing a pathway to high quality and affordable higher education as well as training workers with the skills needed to sustain and improve quality of life in the region.
De La Rosa says Pride Wednesday efforts will continue as EPCC prepares to celebrate its 50th Anniversary in 2019.
“We invite all students, faculty, staff and community members to show their EPCC pride by wearing purple and teal every Wednesday,” De La Rosa said.
The NCMPR is the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and public relations professionals of more than 650 community and technical colleges across the U.S, and Canada.
The NCMPR Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication from each of NCMPR’s seven districts. The regional competition is exclusive to marketing and public relations professionals as two-year colleges.
