Over the past few months, I have been researching and growing my knowledge in herbal remedies and the benefits of growing your own herbs.
I have always taken a liking to nature but have never pushed myself to learn about it and actually experiment with it until this year.
I have heard that different herbs can prevent disease and help heal certain injuries, but the benefits of herbs go much farther than that.
Herbal remedies can help improve mental wellness such as depression, PTSD, ADHD, insomnia and even memory problems.
They can be used to create natural shampoos, face washes, detergents, disinfectant cleaners and even remedies for hard days.
Any purpose that you can basically think of can be treated, cleaned or cured with herbs.
The book that I got that has opened my eyes to all of this wonderful information is “Do-it-yourself- Herbal Medicine” by Home-Crafted Remedies for Health and Beauty.
I would not know as much as I do about herbal remedies without it. The top five herbs that everyone should have in their home are chamomile, echinacea, garlic, peppermint, and calendula.
Chamomile is an herb that works wonders for all sorts of ailments. It can help treat anxiety, upset stomach, promoted sounder sleep and relieve body pain.
Echinacea is a must-have during cold and flu season. It will have you all geared up to fight off viruses and bacteria as well as help get rid of psoriasis, eczema and even bug bites.
Garlic is amazing in food and also great as warding off diseases, infection, colds, the flu and other unwanted things such as vampires.
One of my favorite herbs is peppermint, I love the way it smells and the way it tastes. Peppermint can help soothe an upset stomach, relieve sinus, nasal, and chest congestion.
When used topically it can help soothe sore muscles and relieve pain from minor strains and sprains. The last essential herb is Calendula which is great for gastrointestinal and digestive issues.
It can also be a nourishing moisturizer for irritated and injured skin. These five herbs are essential because they are versatile tools to cure all types of ailments.
The main reasons why I want to get more involved in herbal remedies is because there are a lot of chemicals and harmful substances out there that companies use in products that are not safe for humans.
I want to do everything I can in my power to prevent diseases and other conditions from arising in my life. I have bad back pain, anxiety and I get stressed out very easily.
Thankfully there are herbal remedies that can help make all of these ailments better. For back pain, it is said that ingredients such as cohosh root, dried valerian, olive oil, cayenne pepper, ground ginger, grated beeswax, peppermint essential oil, and eucalyptus essential oil can all help.
The ingredients that are supposed to help reduce anxiety are coarse sea salt, bergamot essential oil, dried chamomile flowers, grated fresh ginger root, licorice root, St. John’s wort and passionflower.
Finally, for my stressful days, I am supposed to look to chamomile, tarragon, rosemary, sage, lemon, honey, frankincense essential oil and lavender essential oil.
All of these ingredients sound soothing and helpful already. I hope you try them out and see how they can benefit your life.
By making them a part of my daily life now, they will positively impact the rest of my life. I look forward to feeling better the natural way.
