Open your mind to independent films

October 24, 2017

There is an immense variety of stories that you can visualize which can cause strong emotions.

It’s a different world in every film and you can travel to one just by pressing the play button.

Most people who watch movies don’t take the time to search for good movies, just the ones they find in the theater. I must say they are very commercial movies.

Audiences should look for more independent movies and open their minds to cinema to try something different.

I think independent movies are very unique, these type of films give the feeling of being connected to life.

My point is, there is so much cinema to explore out there.

Independent cinema has a variety of good and interesting movies and when you start to support independent movies, more indie cinema will be made.

Some people may believe that these films interest an audience with a different taste but as I said before, most independent movies relate to real life and many people may not realize it’s because of their low popularity.

“Donnie Darko” (2001), produced by Richard Kelly, is one of the most known independent films and is one of my favorite films.

It’s about a teenager who’s warned by a very tall and strange rabbit about the end of the world. It’s a supernatural 80s teen drama, you have to see it.

Another widely known independent film is “Evil Dead” (1981) by the producer Robert Tapert.

It is one of the most controversial and supernatural horror films about a group of friends that travel to a cabin in the woods and get possessed by demons.

It’s not my favorite but I have to say that is one of the scariest movies I have seen.

My very first favorite movie from independent cinema is “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” (2004) by Michel Gondry.

This film is about a painful breakup, where this couple undergoes a process to have each other erased from their memories.

I describe this film as a perfect piece because it makes you think so much. You can’t tell if it’s a sad film or not but it does make you think differently.

Imagery is very artistic, very pure and creates feeling.

This film is an example of good creation and investment. Movie lovers should watch it.

I can keep giving recommendations but there are a lot of good independent films that people must watch.

I have an incredibly long list of good movies. It’s unbelievable how much time and money Hollywood wastes on producing bad movies that are super famous.

I asked myself, why do I love movies so much?

I found that independent filmmakers and their work are the reason why.
