If you are interested in starting your own business and having the flexibility and monetary satisfaction of becoming your own boss, The Small Business Development Center Network is offering a Tax Preparer Workshop Series.
The Small Business Development Center Network can help you expand your career as a tax professional.
This workshop is offered every year, there is no need to have prior tax knowledge.
You will learn everything you need to know about tax preparation with these workshops.
The cost to attend is $399, this fee covers a textbook and one-on-one instructor assistance.
The material covered in class can also be reviewed online as well as tests and chapter quizzes.
The classes will cover two chapters at a time and the instructor is John Romero from Romero Consulting.
Workshops will take place at the Administrative Services Center, Bldg. B # B520. on 9050 Viscount Blvd.
Classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 p.m. starting on Sept. 12 and ending Oct. 5.
According to Audrey Marrufo, this seminar will cover topics like filing status, standard deductions, dependent wages, taxable benefits, income from interest, retirement plans and pensions, social security income, health savings accounts, charitable contributions, business expenses, foreign tax, tax credit, tax as it relates to real estate transactions and various credit and deductions.
Some clients will require the use of forms beyond the standard ones that most people use to file.
The course will cover the special filing requirements for clients who own businesses and are independent contractors.
Since each state has its own tax code, this course will teach state-specific tax information and federal requirements.
Those who complete the course, will earn 15 to 18 CPE hours.
After meeting both state and federal licensure and registration requirements, you will be issued a Tax Preparer ID number.
This ID number must be obtained by all tax preparers and is required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in order to receive compensation for their services.
The Small Business Development Center also offers confidential business advice at no cost.
Their certified business development advisors will guide you with strategies to either start or grow your business.
Their experts will guide you to make good business decisions with their professional advice.
Some of the areas of advice are Sales and Marketing, Government Contracting and Financing, Capital Formation, Financial Forecasting, Strategic Planning and Accounting.
Seminars and business trainings are also scheduled throughout the year. Some of the trainings may require a nominal fee.
Online courses are also available at no cost. Some of the online courses are also offered in Spanish.
