Visit the Student Services Building at the Valle Verde campus room S139 and ask them about the Books for Veterans program at EPCC.
Let us say thanks and invest in the veterans for the time they have invested in us.
The program is available to all student veterans not currently receiving books as part of their GI Bill Benefits program.
Veterans will be able to rest easy knowing that they will be set and ready for class, with books lent and free of charge.
“By providing veterans free books to borrow, it is alleviating a lot of the financial obstacles because books are very expensive,” Rios said.
Students are excited to hear about this option EPCC offers.
These books are sourced from the school’s bookstore, plucked for veteran and current service students, based on the courses being taken by the current student veteran.
These measures are taken to ensure that the students needing their books can easily find them and borrow them for the semester.
Ms. Tanya Rios, the Veterans Resource Center Coordinator at Valle Verde, had encouraging words for veterans or current service students, in need of obtaining textbooks for class, “When the students come in, they are very glad to.
I believe it has been very successful for the first semester.”
Step into the Student Resources Building on campus and stop by the Veterans Resource Center to ask about this program and get the books you need.
The aim of this program is to look toward the men and women, who are/have served their country, to give thanks for their time, determination, and efforts inside of the corps as well as on campus and support these already achieving students.
Go to the Veterans Resource Center and hit the books.
This is a resource that is offered to students for the betterment of life in class and at home! You served us, let us serve you.
