As always, EPCC’s Intramural Sports Department is staying busy offering students and staff the opportunity to stay in shape and having fun at the same time.
For those who enjoyed kickball as a kid, Intramural Sports is giving them the chance to relive those memorable moments.
The kickball game between the EPCC cheerleaders and EPCC students will take place on Oct. 28 at 12:30 p.m. at the Tejanas Softball field.
“We have students already signed up but it would be nicer if we got more students to participate,” said Intramural Sports Manger, Louie Hernandez.
“It’s a game between the students and the cheerleaders so we’ll be out there at the Tejano softball field.”
But kickball is just one of the many sports activities Intramural Sports is providing this semester.
Students can also play indoor soccer on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6, 7 or 8 p.m.
“It’s not too late for people that want to play soccer. All they have to do is show up on those days, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and sign up,” said Hernandez.
Students can attend on either day of the week or both days.
Petition will take place on Nov. 21. Over 100 students are expected to participate in that event.
Students can also participate in the Turkey Run on Nov. 23 at the Valle Verde campus at 10 a.m.
Registration for the Turkey Run will be held in front of the gym from 8:30 to 9 a.m.
“We’ll be giving medals to the top three male and female finishers of the 2.1 mile run,” said Hernandez. “It’s not really that far and it’s not that strenuous.”
T-shirts will be given to all runners. Late in the fall semester, Intramural Sports will host the annual students vs. faculty/staff softball game on Dec. 9 at 12:30 p.m. at the Tejanas softball field at VV.
“That is a real popular event that we always have at the end of the school semester,” added Hernandez.
“Hopefully, it’s not too cold or snowing.”
Those who wish to play in the softball game can sign up early at the VV gym or just show up on the day of the game.
