EPCC will be hosting a Truck Raffle Thursday, Sept. 22 during the Fajitas & Margaritas Fundraiser.
The proceeds from the raffle will benefit EPCC student scholarships however, the total amount of scholarships that will be funded depend on the amount of tickets that will be sold.
According to Perla Renteria, resource development assistant, The Foundation for EPCC on average, awards full-time students scholarships worth $1000 and part-time students at around $500.
The truck being raffled is a 2016 Ford F-150 Sport, courtesy of Casa Ford. The tickets for the raffle are being sold at $100 each with only 300 tickets that will be sold.
You do not need to be present in order to win.
Tickets can be purchased at any EPCC campus cashier’s office.
You can also purchase your tickets over the phone and receive them by mail.
Students involved with the EPCC Culinary Arts will be competing at the event to see who can cook the best fajitas, and make the best margaritas. There will also be live mariachi music for entertainment.
Dr. Dolores Gross, executive director resource development, said “The Fajitas and Margaritas for Scholarships event is an effort by the Foundation for El Paso Community College to raise funds to support student success and completion at EPCC.
In order to progress and graduate, many students need financial resources. Thanks to our corporate sponsors, the Foundation is able to use all proceeds directly for scholarships to help deserving students pay for tuition, books, and materials needed for college success.
The Foundation is focused on helping students fulfill their dreams, one scholarship at a time.”
The event is from 6-8 p.m. at the EPCC Administrative Service Center located at 9050 Viscount Blvd. behind The Fountains at Farah. Guests must be 21 years of age and over to attend.
EPCC plans to host more events like this in the future.
Renteria said “EPCC will be planning for next year’s events right after these two fundraisers are over.” Updates will be posted on the school’s website and Facebook page.
