There are many job opportunities available for both El Paso Community College students and graduates.
Former students must have graduated within the past year to take advantage of the employment opportunities.
Employment availability depends on the employer’s needs. There is limited available and time for students to apply on EPCC’s database –the “Career Corner.”
The EPCC Student Services department provides many services that may be beneficial to students.
“Students can prepare for the job market by putting together a resume, cover letter and thank-you letter. They have the opportunity to schedule mock interviews in which they are given feedback.
The feedback will show them what their strong points are and what they need to improve,” said Dina Salazar, a Career Services Specialist.
Those interested in applying for EPCC jobs, may contact the Career Services department at the Student Services Center at the Valle Verde campus or call (915) 831-2636.
“The jobs that we post are primarily for jobs out in the community. Every once in a while, we do get something on campus,” said Salazar.
The design of the Career Corner database has been around for nine years. It is meant to make things easier for students to connect with employers by bringing the job opportunities to the students.
EPCC Career & Transfer Services caters to students by hosting annual classroom presentations, and career and transfer fairs that help to inform students of these job opportunities.
The Career Services department makes the effort of seeking out employers to add to the “100 opportunities” available at any given time.
However, many EPCC students who have been informed of job opportunities a little too late, express their disappointments to the Career Service Specialist.
