EPCC’s Foundation department will be hosting a Fajitas and Margaritas Fundraiser.
The event will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Administrative Services Center (ASC) at building B behind the Fountains of Farah on Sept. 22.
The ASC building is located at 9050 Viscount Blvd. Tickets are $100.
For tickets and more information about the fundraising event, contact Perla Renteria at (915)-831-6936 or firstname.lastname@example.org and Dolores Gross at the (915)-831-6484 or email@example.com
“Several specialty margaritas will be featured with different tequilas. Tequilas such as agave and mescal will be used,” said Dr. Dolores Gross, the Resource Development and Foundation Executive Director.
There will also be a variety of beers and non-alcoholic beverages.
The event will be open-bar, and there will be live Mariachi Music.
“It is expected that all will drink responsibly,” said Gross.
The food and drinks will be made by EPCC Culinary Arts students, who will be competing for the title of the best fajitas and margaritas.
The winning teams will be awarded with the annual golden skillet award, and the margarita glass award.
“Four teams of EPCC culinary students will compete for the best, most savory fajitas, and there will be a margarita “shake-off” for the tastiest margaritas,” said Gross.
The earnings from the fundraiser will be used to award EPCC students with scholarships. The scholarships can only be used during the student’s time at EPCC.
“Over the past five years, The Foundation for EPCC has distributed over $1.7 million for scholarships to 1,178 students, which helped over 821 students complete their degrees,” said Gross.
The Fajitas and Margaritas Fundraiser is the first of its kind, but the Foundation Board members hope to make it an annual event and community-wide celebration.
