EPCC had a commercial shoot at the Valle Verde campus and the ASC building on June 29.
“Today’s commercial is Tejano Jack, EPCC’s Mascot, shown as a real student. He’s going to be put in situations where he’s with students in a classroom.” said Jim Heiney, EPCC’s marketing specialist.
In the commercial, Tejano Jack will be driving in a red firebird convertible during his commute to school.
Later, Jack is seen attending classes and enjoying the college experience.
“This is part of our recruitment effort to get new people to come to our school or someone who went here and stopped,” said Heiney during the shoot.
Every year, EPCC promotes the college by making multiple television and radio commercials.
The Director of the EPCC commercials, Jeff Goldberg, works for “Valley View Studios,” a publishing studio that has been helping EPCC for many years.
“We’ve been working with EPCC for a long time,” said Goldberg. “We get called in to do their commercials and some of their other intern video projects.”
“The plan is get more people here at EPCC and help students,” said Tejano Jack.
The commercial will be broadcasted on TV and audio recordings on the radio. There is also a possibility that it will be shown in movie theaters in El Paso.
All commercials will start airing in October.
