The Student Leadership and Campus Life will be holding a Clubs and Organization fair at the El Paso Community College Mission del Paso campus on Feb. 25.
“There are a lot of students that do not know that there are different clubs and organizations that may be of their interests,” said Yadira Corral, Campus Life representative.
The event will be held between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at 10700 Gateway Blvd. East, in the Mission del Paso Courtyard.
“The goal of this event is to invite students to participate in extracurricular activities that will enhance their college experience,” Corral said,
“When I attended EPCC as a student, I had a great time, and clubs and I know that was part of the reason why I enjoyed my time here”
The event will be informative for students interested in clubs.
There will be tables for the clubs and organizations to advertise their groups.
In order for a club or organization to reserve a table, they must contact Corral for further information at room C143 at the Mission del Paso campus or by telephone (915) 831-7045.
“...This is the reason why I want to invite these clubs and organizations to our campus so they show students what they have to offer,” said Corral.
For students who are interested in the clubs and organizations event but are unable to attend, information can be found within the EPCC agendas students receive when they obtain new or renewal stickers for
Students may also receive one of these agendas at any EPCC Campus Life office.
“You can find this information starting on page 14,” said Corral.
“You can use those pages to get an idea of what clubs and organizations we have already.
Students are able to start their own club or organization but must meet the requirements;
Clubs must have at least five members, a faculty member as a co-advisor, and approval from the departmental dean.
If students do not have a room in which they may hold their meetings, they can contact a Campus Life representative at 831-2660.
