Tejanos struggles continue

The EPCC Tejanos baseball team dropped all four games to Pima Community College last weekend in Tucson, to fall to 1-9 on the season.

The Tejanos lost by the scores of 12-3, 12-6, 10-2 and 5-4.


EPCC”s only win of the season came in its second game, a 6-2 decision over Scottsdale Community College.


Infielder Guillermo Loera has been leading the team offensively this season with 13 hits and a batting average of .406.


He also leads the team with seven runs batted in and is tied for the team lead in triples with two.


Holy Anderson is next with 11 hits while Kirt Cormier and Bryan Nunez each have nine. 


Pitching has been the biggest problem for the Tejanos, as they carry a team earned run average of 10.14.


The Tejanos return to action on Feb. 19 and 20 for four games at Cochise College.
