Tejanas split series

The El Paso Community College Tejanas softball team split their four-game series with McCook Community College last weekend to improve their record to 3-7.

After dropping the first two games by the scores of 8-6 and 7-3, the Tejanas rallied to take the last two, 12-7 and 9-8.


Jasmine Mitchell has been, far and away, the most productive player on offense, leading the team with a .455 batting average. 


Mitchell also leads the team in hits with 15, doubles (4), home runs (2), runs batted in (17) and slugging percentage (.758). She’s also second in runs scored with six.


Christina Alexander is the only other player with double-digit hits, with 10.


The Tejanas will host Colby College this Friday with a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. 


The second game should start at approximately 5 p.m.
