This is a hilarious cute children’s movie that follows Dracula, who is played by Adam Sandler, and his monster hotel.
On one special weekend, Dracula invites creatures like the Invisible Man, the Mummy and others to celebrate the 118th birthday of his daughter, Mavis who is played by Selena Gomez.
However, an unforeseen complication unfolds when an ordinary human unwittingly crashes the party and falls in love with Mavis.
In the sequel Dracula and his monster-hotel members are still struggling to accept others’ differences in “Hotel Transylvania 2,” Now that Dracula has opened the Hotel Transylvania’s doors to humans, things are changing for the better.
However, Dracula is secretly worried that his half-human adorable grandson, Dennis, isn’t showing his vampire side.
While Mavis and Johnny are away, Dracula enlists his friends to help him put the young boy through a “monster-in-training” boot camp.
Things really get batty when Vlad, Dracula’s old-school dad, pays an unexpected visit.
Although this movie has a positive message about family unity and diversity, it also has dark scenes and jump scares that may be too much for young children.
It will amuse your kids, especially those who enjoyed the original movie as my younger sister did.
Everyone will laugh when Dracula and his crew of monster pals try to school young Dennis in the ways of “monsterdom.”
And there’s a fun bit of stunt casting, Mel Brooks as Vlad, Dracula’s father, who isn’t very fond of humans, but has been invited to Dennis’ birthday party.
Adam Sandler co-wrote the script and did an amazing jog filling it with kid-targeted humor.
The movie brought in over $148 million in box office sales, it was a great weekend to release the movie as it was a welcome pre-holiday diversion for the first film’s smallest fans.
This is a great funny and entertaining movie, it is a perfect family pick for the Halloween season.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
