“Banana” is probably the kind of fruit you should bring to the movies if you are planning to watch “Minions” this summer, because these little yellow tender creatures will make you want to eat them.
Before you go outside and buy your popcorn, are you truly a fan of the “Despicable Me” movies? Or do you just want to watch this movie just because you love the Minions so much?

Sandra Bullock stars as Scarlet Overkill the 'Minions' film.
I agree the minions are cute, but sadly I have to say that this movie is not for everyone.
If you are not a fan of mute cartoons like “The Pink Panther” or Ferb of “Phineas and Ferb,” this movie could not fit your taste very well, just like it did with mine. If you’re not a fan and you are also not impressed by the cast, I honestly recommend you to watch another movie.
Kyle Balda and Pierre Coffin direct the spin-off film, which stars Sandra Bullock voicing the sex-symbol antagonist Scarlet Overkill, the most famous and incredible villain in the world, who the Minions want to work for.
Also lending his voice is John Ham as Scarlet’s charismatic, and also evil, husband Herb Overkill.
This movie is set in 1968 where the hippie movement and Nixon’s candidature are in their climax. How could a Minion ignore that? But also, how could we ignore songs that mark the beginning of a new era?
Songs like “Break on Through” by The Doors, or “Foxy Lady” by Jimi Hendrix are just the perfect tunes to everybody’s ears.
For me though, the film content was boring and I rarely laughed throughout the showing.
This movie was made more for kids, of course, than for adults. However, the music and the setting of this piece was just genius, but besides that, I would say just go watch another movie. 2 ½ out of 5 stars.
