Dr. Roberts will be missed

March 17, 2015

The Tejano Tribune staff would like to express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Ernst Roberts II. Roberts lost his bout with cancer on March 5 and was laid to rest on March 16.

Over a span of 40 years, Dr. Roberts began as a faculty member in the Psychology Discipline (where he later earned tenure) at EPCC, serving as the Director of Human Resource Development, Executive Assistant to the President, Interim President from September 2011 through July 2012 and most recently as Vice President of Administration and Financial Operations.  Dr. Roberts’ legacy will continue through his work in securing the agreement that culminated in the Department of the Army’s approval of EPCC’s sixth campus on Fort Bliss.

Roberts was inducted into El Paso’s Business Hall of Fame in 2013 and served as a Chair of the Board for KCOS Public Television, Executive Board Member of the Yucca Council, Boy Scouts of America, and as past President of the El Paso Vista Hills Rotary Club.

He will be remembered as a kind, thoughtful man passionate about EPCC and its students.

Dr. Roberts will be missed.
