As soon I walked into Kona Grill, smiley faces of the hosts were welcoming.

The inside of the restaurant was really pleasant and contemporary, besides the fact that it was cold. That’s why I asked to be seated outside.

That is when I found out that the patio, bar and lounge are self-seated and indoors is mainly for reservations.

The waiter was attentive and friendly. He took the time to describe the menu and told me about the different drinks they have.

He recommended the Red Saké Sangria and Raspberry Tea. I was not disappointed.

Although Kona Grill’s specialties are sushi rolls, there are more things to select in the menu like pizza, salads, soups, sandwiches and starters.

The waiter suggested the Pepperoni Flat Bread as a starter. It consisted of Parmesan cheese, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese.

It was a delight to sit outside in the patio. The weather, the view and music were perfect.

The sushi rolls where brought just in time, actually a few minutes after I was done eating our exquisite flat bread.

Cocunut Shrimp Roll, variaty of sauces, and Las Vegas Roll.

I ordered a Coconut Shrimp Roll, which was composed of toasted macadamia nuts, mango, cucumber, cream cheese rose nectar and soy pepper.

To accompany that, I also ordered a Las Vegas Roll, made up of fresh salmon, crab mix, cream cheese, tempura fried, and eel sauce. The presentation of the sushi rolls was great.

After enjoying dinner, I ordered a Spice Apple Bread Pudding for dessert. Sadly, it had too much spice and that faded the taste of the apple.

The restaurant is located at 8889 Gateway Blvd W. at the Fountains at Farah.

I recommend it to anyone who enjoys sitting outdoors while enjoying an appetizer or simply a drink.

I give Kona Grill 3.5 out of 5 stars for their great service and great atmosphere.
